So we – Sandra and Paul – are off to visit Amy at Kamuzu Academy and see a bit of the rest of Malawi over Easter. Hoping that with a Malawian SIM we might be able to update the blog but we’ll just have to see. 1st problem is how we carry the travel trunks, 2nd is do I wear the Pith Helmet or pack it in the luggage?

Safari!!
Finally an actual blog post from Africa if this manages to upload!! We are near the end of half term now which is sad but we did get 2 weeks so I can’t really complain. Yesterday I got back from safari in South Luangwa with two other people from the school and it was amazing, they said I was incredibly lucky because I saw everything that was in the park to see from army ants (way cooler than it sounds) to lions, leopards, elephants, giraffe, zebra, snakes, hippo, crocodile, hyena and even some wild dogs which the guide said was the second most indangered animal in Africa (after the Ethiopian wolf). So I have narrowed the photos down from over 1500 between 3 people over 4 game drives and some of them are below.
Enjoy!!

More News via Croxley
Hi All, looks like the blog will be defeated by the access issues but we are managing to keep in touch with Amy via Whatsapp. Below are the latest pictures, one of the pool and another of the grounds. Amy is keeping busy, tomorrow she’s taking PE at the local primary school in the morning, swimming at lunchtime, a Sports Leaders session & then an after school sports club. This weekend they are all off to the south of the country for a sports gala hosted by another school.
Update from Home
Hi, a quick note from England to let you all know that Amy is fine and really enjoying herself. The internet access is really really slow & Amy is so busy running swimming clubs, inter-house competitions, covering for ill teachers and generally just having a wonderful time that she can’t update this site as often as she would like. So, in the meantime I’ve added a Pictures page so you can see the “flat” she mentions in her previous post.
Arrived!!
Well I have now moved into my ‘flat’ which consists of a living room, kitchen, store room, 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms over 2 floors so I think there might be a small difference in definition or something lost in translation!
I’m really going!!
Yesterday the flights got booked so I’m off on the 11th September with Ethiopian Airlines (or as Dad has renamed them, EthiopiAir) but not long until I’m then back in the UK on the 10th December!!
So with 10 days to go we have the majority of things I need before I leave. So a few small things and a couple of trial packs and I will be all set for my first trip to Africa!!
