Liwonde National Park is one of the smaller national parks within Malawi but was wonderful nevertheless. The option of a river safari was well worth it. It amazing how quickly you get used to hippos!

We stayed at the Liwonde Safari Lodge, no mains electricity only solar (whoo hoo), but it was fantastic. All the cooking is done off fire stoves but the food was great.
